Continuing on our Local Legends initiative from 2017, we are kicking off our first fundraising appeal for 2018 by partnering with the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children. With innovative programs, leading technological advances and a multitude of resources to maintain and fund, the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children are in desperate need of funding and support in order to continue the work they do in the Hunter region and regional remote Australia for children with vision and hearing loss.
Coming up to Christmas there is an abundance of food wastage in the home and in hospitality venues with people spending and purchasing huge amounts of food for celebrations, get-togethers, parties and catering. The Sydney Junction Hotel has partnered with OzHarvest Newcastle for the month of December to raise awareness of the food wastage crisis in Australia.
For the month of November, the hotel has invited Variety the Children’s Charity to run the skip-the-line fundraising campaign and collect donations from patrons who choose to donate $20 to skip-the-line on Friday and Saturday nights. Hoping to raise $10, 000, Variety will send volunteers to the hotel on Friday and Saturday nights to engage with patrons by raising awareness and funds and encouraging members of the community to become involved with the organization.
Mayfield United Soccer Club is using the Local Legends program and Skip-the-line initiative as an opportunity to raise money to put in a underground drainage system at Mayfield Park.
The Sydney Junction Hotel is hoping that over the month of September patrons dig deep and show the same generosity they have over the last couple of months to get this fund raising appeal off the ground and kick the ball out of the park with the fundraising target.
